PD Dr. Kate Gerber

Kate Gerber heads the Personalised Medicine research group at the sitem Center for Translational Medicine and Biomedcial Entrepreneurship of the University of Bern. She received a Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Bern in 2014, following the completion of Bachelor degrees in Biomedical Science and Engineering (electronics in computer systems) from Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia in 2009 and Computer science from the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia in 2004.  Her research interests include image guidance for high accuracy applications, computer-based surgical planning, instrument tracking, sensor based safety systems for image guided robotics, image based diagnosis and treatment outcome prediction and system-user interfaces for surgical applications.
